Boundary-pushing Christian Romance author to release second novel.
Nor Forsake is the sophomore book of Texas based author, Julie Presley, and will be releasing June 17th. Her first book, Stones of Remembrance, received rave reviews from readers for pushing the limit of what Christian romance looks like. Presley presents her characters and their struggles in a way that readers will find refreshing and relatable.
Libby Abbott leads a seemingly charmed life: she works from a beautiful home in a rich neighborhood as an aspiring author and has a handsome and successful husband who supports her dreams. But behind closed doors are the suspicions of infidelity, failed pregnancies, a writing career that’s virtually non-existent, and a heart that is so far from God, she’s not sure she knows the way back. When Libby’s short story and headshot land on the desk of literary agent, Jason Randall, he is intrigued by the grace with which she handles her characters and her stunning smile. He’s convinced that she’s his next best-selling author. Publishing is the last thing on Libby’s mind, but Jason’s eagerness to see her succeed pushes her in a direction she never thought she’d travel again – towards the God of her youth, who dares her to embrace life amidst all of the chaos.
Advance reader copies of Nor Forsake are receiving rave reviews. One Goodreads reviewer says:
It’s about time a modern Christian writer recognized that readers are ready for more than just sweet, prescribed, neatly-packaged “religious” romance. Guess what? We’re divorced, hurt, stressed out, and angry. We’ve miscarried, declared bankruptcy and had affairs. We’ve hurt people and hurt ourselves. We’ve told God “thanks, but no thanks” and turned away for a time. We cuss and drink. Presley seems to get this and does not shy away from deep hurts in her books.
Nor Forsake is available for preorder on Amazon, and as an e-book on Kindle, and will be released in paperback on June 17th.
Julie lives in Fort Worth, Texas with her husband and two boys. You can follow her on
Julie Presley grew up in the breathtaking Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada. She was anxious to move on to bigger and better things and drove to Colorado Springs, CO a year after graduation to study as a missionary with Youth With a Mission. She traveled to Thailand and China for numerous months and developed a heart for the victims of human trafficking. In the midst of that, she met her husband, a Texan seeking solace in the mountains from the Southern heat and the fame that comes with being fourth cousin thrice removed to Elvis himself, which only gets you the stink eye from the ticket guy at Graceland. After they were married they moved to Texas where Julie gave birth to her two sons, and fell in love with reading again (because it’s just too hot to do anything else!) after a few years hiatus so she could be a responsible grown up who doesn’t shirk off responsibilities to get lost in a world of fiction. One day she realized that she had something creative buried deep down inside of her so she sat down at her computer and began to type. She hasn’t stopped. Stones of Remembrance is her first published novel, but there are many more finished manuscripts that she looks forward to publishing in the future. Julie and her husband lead worship at various locations around Dallas/Fort Worth, enjoy family, good wine and being silly with their boys. Julie does not enjoy waking up, doing dishes, or interacting with anyone or anything before drinking some freshly French-pressed coffee.
