Hello and welcome!
I’m Julie, I’m an author of what I call, “Not your mama’s Christian Romance,” and I blog here, candidly sharing my stories of walking in freedom and healing with the Holy Spirit. I’m a wife to Rocky who makes me laugh and sells really good beer, and a mom to two boys, Salem and Josiah, who love all things Minecraft, and don’t need any excuses to be loud. We live in hot, humid Texas with our corgi-runt, Trey and our betta fish, Mr. Awesome, who is, indeed, awesome.
On my 30th birthday I began a journey that I didn’t even know was necessary. The Lord began to open up some secret doors into my past that showed me that I needed a lot of healing. I ran from the painful memories quickly, but He gently guided me back to them and showed me that ignoring them would cause more harm than acknowledging them would. From then on I’ve been exploring what it looks like to walk in healing and freedom from words and actions that were intended to hurt me as well as some of the most random occurrences that caused deep wounds in my heart. The Lord is continuing to do a deep work in my life and He’s given me a huge desire to share it with you here, as often as possible.
I come here as often as inspiration hits to write words and stories that reconcile hearts to the Father. Vulnerability is a key component of this blog; I choose to be open and honest about what the Lord is walking me through because so many are facing the exact same things, but don’t have a safe place to share or process through them. This is that place.
I want you to know that there is healing for you, and if I can do it, then so can you. If you read one post on this blog that stirs the, “me too!” response, then you’re in the right place.
There are also times when I just need to get things off my chest about parenting, social media, writing etc., and this is my safe place for that. My promise is that there will always be something that you can take away from my posts. I won’t rant and whine, but share from the depths of my heart what the Lord is saying about whatever it is that’s on my mind for the day.
I look forward to connecting with you here!
