That’s right. One night while we were at dinner during my husband’s business trip to Bermuda, our hotel room was broken into and a bunch of our things stolen, including my laptop (some things were recovered, but the laptop is still MIA).
What a horrible glitch in my plans. The Father has been good and present through it all, but I’m pretty weary over the whole thing. My books were backed up, but my photos, videos and all other files were not. It’s been grueling trying to rule my thoughts in the midst of all of this, that computer felt like a third arm sometimes, or a second brain (ha!).
Anyway, I had great plans to publish a Christmas short story as an e-book and give it away for free on Smashwords, but now because of the not-so-consistent availability of a laptop I’m not sure I’ll be able to get that done in time for Christmas. At the very least, I will post a PDF here that you could download and share to your heart’s content, and next year I’ll have maybe 2 more that I might compile and give away, we’ll see.
At any rate, it’s Christmas and I’m not allowing my joy to be stolen. It’s still the best time of year, and I still serve a good God, in spite of about 3 hours of doubt the night of. I’m still human after all . . .
